At 50-years-old Bill Goldberg seems to be more popular than ever, and the former WWE and WCW Champion will have the chance to add more gold around his waist next month when he faces Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Championship.
Goldberg’s title shot was announced on WWE Raw last night, while his Wrestlemania match was also confirmed on the show.
For the second time in Wrestlemania history Goldberg will square off with Brock Lesnar, an opponent he has destroyed and diminished ever since his WWE return last autumn.
But first Goldberg must deal with Kevin Owens, and it will be interesting to see how their match will go down at Fastlane next month.
50-year-old Goldberg is about to wrestle both Kevin Owens and Brock Lesnar
Joe’s official debut was greeted with much fanfare, and he defeated Roman Reigns in a short but exciting main event after interference from Braun Strowman.
Seth Rollins was scheduled to be Joe’s first PPV opponent, but after Rollins suffered an injury last week it remains to be seen what the formal plan for Joe is.
After 18 years in the wrestling business he deserves an exciting feud to kick-off his main roster career, but it seems unlikely to be against Reigns who looks set to face Strowman at Wrestlemania.
The biggest show of the year is now just two months away, and one of the key matches scheduled is Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho.
Their long-awaited split from being Best Friends was teased throughout Raw, especially when Jericho accepted the upcoming match with Goldberg on behalf of Owens.
One legendary tag-team is also celebrating today as it was confirmed that the Rock N’ Roll Express will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in April.
With the exception of the Road Warriors, no tag-team defined the 80s quite like the Express, and their induction is very well deserved.
