Conor McGregor has been drug tested for the first time this year ahead of his challenge for the UFC lightweight title.
McGregor was visited by a team from the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) at his home in Dublin on Monday night.
In contrast, his opponent – champion Rafael dos Anjos – has already been tested four times this year.
Following a spate of failed tests, the UFC launched a new anti-doping program in conjunction with USADA last year.
McGregor was tested a total of eight times last year as he beat Dennis Siver, Chad Mendes and finally Jose Aldo to win the featherweight title in December.
Indeed the Irishman, alongside Aldo and former women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, was the most tested athlete in the promotion in 2015.
The most recent fighter to fail a test was Yoel Romero who beat Ronaldo Souza at UFC 194.
