Conor McGregor has flown to America ahead of his court hearing in Brooklyn on Thursday. The disgraced UFC star faces charges of assault and criminal mischief after attacking a bus full of fellow fighters in April.
McGregor posted a pre-flight snap of himself, Cian Cowley and his son Conor Jr as the MMA fighter prepares to face the court.
SBG team-mate Cowley is also charged and will appear alongside McGregor on Thursday. McGregor and Cowley are both relaxed about the charges, and the latter insisted the incident had been blown out of proportion. Cowley said at the weekend: ‘It was nothing. We’ll just get it out of the way and then get back to work. Cian Cowley was also charged (Picture: Getty)
‘Well, I have been working anyway. It was nothing, it was all blown up. That’s not even in my head anyway, ah it’s on Thursday, whatever.
‘I was a name before, but it’s gone from people on the fight-scene knowing me to just normal ‘Joe-Soap’ knowing me. You decide yourself whether that’s a good or a bad thing.’ McGregor injured several fighters and one UFC employee during the bus attack and forced the MMA promotion to cancel several bouts scheduled for that weekend.
