Fedor Emelianenko weathered the storm in the opening round of his fight with Fabio Maldonado to eventually squeeze by with a majority decision win in the main event of “EFN 50”.
The card aired exclusively on “UFC Fight Pass” and it was a heavyweight contest that nearly saw a finish in the opening minutes of the fight. It was supposed to be a showcase for Fedor to prove he still has what it takes to eliminate top talent within the octagon, but he did not get to prove that.
UFC President Dana White was watching, and it doesn’t sound like he was too impressed with the performance. While there is no doubt that Emelianenko is one of the best of all time, White’s short and silly response is making it sound like he is dismissing the idea:
Dana White, via text, on if UFC has interest in Fedor Emelianenko after today’s performance: “?”
