UFC superstar Darren Till has welcomed the news he has 57 new MMA team-mates at MTK Global.
Till is currently preparing for a colossal homecoming bout against Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson at Liverpool’s sold-out Echo Arena on May 27.
The unbeaten ‘Gorilla’ spent more than three years in Brazil from 2012 – honing his craft at a gym in Santa Catarina that has subsequently become an MTK Global gym under esteemed fighter, coach, manager and promoter Marcelo Brigadeiro.
With the eyes of the world of combat sports turning to his clash with world title challenger Thompson, Till has championed the announcement of such a large group of high-class fighters joining him at MTK Global.
Till said: “It’s simply great news for all of us. Brazil is one of the very top countries for mixed martial arts and now MTK Global is one of the best teams.
“There are a lot of superb upcoming young fighters in that gym in Santa Catarina and this marks a big step forward. They’ve not just signed established stars and one of my main sparring partners Mike Grundy, but all the up-and-comers too.
“I was there for nearly four years and I know all these guys. It’s no joke in that gym – it was very much a case of ‘kill or be killed.’ I’m proud to say I triumphed and it helped shape me as a fighter.
“Now I’m going to triumph back in my own city.”
