Floyd Mayweather asks the odds of him competing in MMA

Has anyone got a case of deja vu when it comes to Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor?

This time last year, the rumour mills were going crazy as Mayweather – in the conversation as one of the greatest pound-for-pound greatest boxers of all-time – was considering taking on McGregor – easily the biggest draw in UFC and MMA history.

The bout eventually took place last August and went on to become the most lucrative fight in the history of sport, but neither man has competed since.

McGregor says he is in negotiations for his next UFC fight, but could that be a decoy? With Mayweather posting videos of himself inside the octagon, the Notorious One wasn't shy with his response.

"I'd do as I pleased against him. But if he does do it, I know he's flirting with it, I would have respect for him. I think it would get his earned respect in," McGregor told Adam's Apple.

"If it is just hype it will follow him for the rest of his days. I said I would do it and I stepped in and did it."

This week, Mayweather posted a video of himself inside the octagon again, but this time, he asked the bookmakers Paddy Power a question.
