Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch retire back in July but has always said ‘never rule out a comeback’
Froch, now 38, has recently flirted with the idea of coming back and fighting for his old title. The IBF Super Middleweight belt. James Degale has currently got this belt so Froch would have to face him if he is to take it back.
Froch said on talkSPORT: “I look at the people like DeGale who is fighting Bute and I think to myself, ‘you know what, I can still have him’. It does make me think, ‘should I fight’?
“I have always said from the day I retired ‘never say never’ and I am at the point now where I am thinking, ‘one more, why not’?
“James DeGale is fighting my old opponent for my old belt so why not give him a pasting at Wembley next spring!”
Degale said “I think Carl has ducked me,”
“But I’m not fussed now. I want to move on and win my own world title.”
It looks increasing like Carl Froch will make a comeback if the deal if right. It could be another Wembley showdown. Froch will now talk with his with and family and take it from there.
