Holly Holm is getting ready for her big fight on March 5 by getting some work in with Jon Jones.
Without question, Holly Holm instantly became one of the biggest sports stars in the world when she did the unthinkable and defeated Ronda Rousey to become the new UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion back in November. While the fame is all well and good for Holm, the reality is that she still has work to do ahead of her.
With the target being on her back now, Holm will make her first title defense on March 5 at UFC 196 and it will not be an easy one by any means. She’ll be taking on Miesha Tate, who is no stranger to getting some of her work done on the ground.
However, this is not something that Holm is overlooking. As a matter of fact, she’s getting ready for the challenge by working on her ground game with one of the best in the business, Jon Jones.
Not the worst idea in the world, especially since after what she did to Rousey, no one is going to get in that cage and try to stand up with her for too long. Holm proved that she’s the superior boxing expert in women’s MMA, so you can believe that Tate is not going to test that like Ronda did back in November.
