Put yourself in the mind of a fighter for a minute. A fighter who’s opponent just missed weight by a pretty decent margin.
On one hand you take the fight because you’re not a punk, but at the same time, you’ve just allowed an unfair advantage to your opponent when the contest was originally booked as a fair fight.
It’s a decision that’s left up to each individual athlete, and for Max Holloway, if he opted to not fight an overweight Anthony Pettis he would have given up his chance at a UFC belt. Max is a fighter, so he’s still fighting Pettis, despite Anthony weighing in at 148 pounds.
