McGregor responds to barrage of abuse with fresh Instagram post

Conor McGregor has responded to the barrage of abuse directed at him in recent days by posting a picture of him and his family.

The UFC star is due back in court in New York on June 14 after being charged with assault and criminal mischief. McGregor attacked a bus carrying rival UFC fighters last Thursday and subsequently handed himself into police after two men were injured during the melee.

The Irishman though seems unfazed by the incident as he posted a sweet picture of him, his long-term girlfriend Dee Devlin and their young son. McGregor is back in Ireland after his bail was posted and he was given permission to leave the US and return home.

The 29-year-old had broken his silence earlier on Monday with a cryptic Instagram post.

McGregor shared a picture of him heading towards his car in New York flanked by Cian Cowley, who has also been charged, and wearing the same clothes he donned in court last Friday. The two-weight UFC champion has yet to make an official statement about the incident in Brooklyn, but is facing jail time in the US for his actions.

The UFC have not taken any action against their biggest star, but the promotion is waiting for the outcome of the legal case against McGregor.
