Draymond Green relishes trash talking, and now he's taking on one of the most controversial and fiery athletes in the game: Conor McGregor.
The Irish UFC star, who is currently preparing for an Aug. 26 bout against Floyd Mayweather, was the subject of a late-night (or early morning, depending on where you are) Instagram post by Green. The image shows McGregor rocking an old-school Warriors jersey — and Draymond wasn't a fan.
"We rocking with Floyd bro not you… take that off bruh," Green captioned the image.
Although McGregor's jersey bears Green's current No. 23, the shirt is actually a C.J. Watson throwback. As you might expect, McGregor did not issue a polite correction.
"That's C.J. Watson mate," McGregor commented on the post. "I don't know who the f— you are. No disrespect tho kid, keep hustling and stay in school."
It seems unlikely McGregor picked up Watson's jersey by chance. Back in 2010, Watson was reportedly a peripheral player in Floyd Mayweather's domestic abuse conviction. Mayweather's then-girlfriend Josie Harris told police Mayweather assaulted her after reading "affectionate text messages between her and NBA basketball player C.J. Watson."
Mayweather was sentenced to 90 days in jail, 100 hours of community service, a 12-month domestic-violence program and ordered to pay a fine of $2,500.
