In the first segment after WrestleMania, Ronda Rousey flashed the smile and the arm bar that will carry her WWE career and got over big in the process.
The Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania is always something exciting. It can be unpredictable and the crowd is sometimes the highlight of the show. WWE wanted to make sure the fans couldn’t hijack the show early by giving them exactly what they wanted right out of the gate: more Ronda Rousey.
Stephanie McMahon kicked things off, playing up her injuries sustained from her match last night with Rousey and Kurt Angle. She then introduced Rousey and tried to put their encounter behind them and kill Rousey with kindness.
Well, Rousey had exactly zero part of that and made Stephanie pay even more.

There are two ways to look at this. The first way is the crowd loved it. They ate up Rousey Sunday night, and she deserved all the praise for looking like a natural in her first match. Wrestling is hard, especially on that type of stage with very little experience. Any crowd is always excited to see Stephanie get beat up a little bit, seeing as she’s a pretty good heel.
The other way to look at it is it’s not exactly the most babyface move ever. Sure, Stephanie is a heel. However, Rousey beat her in the center of the ring last night. She also “injured” Stephanie. Should the good guy really be taking advantage of a foe who is not healthy like that? Typically that type of stuff is reserved for heels, and Rousey has been nothing close to that to this point.
