Joe’s mic was still hot while he was talking to producers during the fighter introductions at UFC 194. He didn’t come right out and say it, but it’s not hard to connect the dots that Joe was alluding to Jose’s physique not looking as impressive ever since the UFC enlisted USADA to help stamp out steroids and performance enhancing drugs, and got rid of IVs for rehydration.
Let’s compare Jose in last weekend’s fight to his previous bout. The fact is, he looks almost identical. He doesn’t look any softer at all in this comparison. The left is from UFC 194 against McGregor, and the right is from his fight with Chad Mendes.
But in Joe’s defense, Aldo looks a lot more jacked in this other older photo:
Rogan: Look how smooth his body looks.
Producer 1: Yeah, he looks good, huh Joe?
Rogan: No, he looks soft.
Producer 1: Oh he does?
Rogan: Yeah, he looks soft.
Producer 2: I agree Joe, i agree.
Producer 1: Around the middle you’re saying?
Producer 2: Yep, yep, he looks soft.
Rogan: He looks deflated.
Producer 2: He looks soft, actually. You’re right.
Rogan: He looks way different. But it could be that he’s done a lot of cardio. Don’t want to jump to conclusions.(producers talking about technical shit here, losing signal etc)
Producer 1: Who do you like Joe?
Rogan: Right now? I think I like Conor.
Producer 1: Same here.
Rogan: Aldo looks nervous as fuck too.
It could definitely have something to do with the IV ban, so don’t jump to steroid-conclusions. Also in the above photo with Mendes, that’s after he’s been working and has got a pump going on, so naturally he’ll look bigger and more defined.
Jose is obviously having a very tough time stomaching this loss, but here’s a picture of him after the fight looking happy and keeping things in perspective.
