While most of the UFC’s 155-pound division would probably be perfectly happy to avoid the awkward brilliance of Tony Ferguson, who has won an astounding nine straight fights, Khabib Nurmagomedov seems fiercely determined to take on ‘El Cucuy’ as soon as possible.
So much so, that he has actually offered to contribute $200,000 to Ferguson’s purse in order to get the bout finalized.
MMAFighting journalist Ariel Helwani reported a couple of weeks ago that money issues were stalling the fight and UFC president Dana White confirmed during the build-up to UFC 207 that Ferguson’s financial demands had scuppered the mouth-watering scrap.
“That ain’t happening. Count that out,” White said during a media scrum last week.

Khabib subsequently responded to White’s claims via Instagram, pleading with the UFC to make the fight that “the world is waiting for.”
Those pleas must not have worked though, because on Monday, Nurmagomedov took to Twitter with his outrageous offer.
Will this push the fight any closer to reality? Probably not. It’s very hard to imagine a proud man like Ferguson accepting such an offer. But you have to admire Nurmagomedov’s desire and initiative.
It’s worth noting that Ferguson and Nurmagomedov are both scheduled to appear on Monday’s edition of The MMA Hour, so we should know more about where things are headed for the lightweight division’s two most terrifying bogeymen in a couple of hours time.
You can watch The MMA Hour live below, starting at 6 p.m. in the U.K and Ireland, 1 p.m. E.T, 10 a.m. P.T. Tony Ferguson is expected at the beginning of the second hour, while Khabib Nurmagomedov will follow shortly thereafter.
