Dana White has revealed that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor may not fight this summer unless he picks a new opponent.
“We’ve been going back and forth and trying to make this fight happen, but the problem is timing,” he said.
“Now we’re running out of time, because I’ve already got — this fight is supposed to be August 20th or something like that. I’ve already got September 20th done. I’ve already got that card made, it’s done, and now we’re moving onto the next one. So we’re going to get to a point here where we’re going to run out of time and we’re just not going to be able to make the fight.
“So Conor is going to have to pick a new opponent that he would like to fight, or lose that date.”
Meanwhile, White has also revealed that he would like to see former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey back in the Octagon in December.
“If she fights, I’m hoping she fights in December,” he told SportsCenter host Cari Champion.
“If not, then she would probably fight at the New Years show at the beginning of the year.”
A WWE statement read: “Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200. Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.”
