Just as the likes of John Cena and Seth Rollins were nearing a return WWE’s injury bug struck again, this time bringing down the wonderful Emma.
Emma, who had spent a successful stint re-tooling down in NXT and working on her character, returned to the WWE main roster before WrestleMania 32 this year. Her heel persona and in-ring work was greatly improved, this injury has stuck just as she was going into a programme with Becky Lynch that was a superb chance to showcase her talents.
Emma’s injury is fairly severe and she will have to undergo surgery for a ruptured disc in her back:
“Emma has a ruptured disc that will require her to have surgery,” explained WWE ringside physician Dr. Chris Robinson. “She came to us in a great deal of pain, which seemed to be increasing. She was then given an M.R.I., which revealed that further action would need to be taken. Unfortunately, the Superstar’s estimated recovery time cannot be determined until after her procedure is complete.”
Less than two weeks after his triumphant return, John Cena is again leaving WWE.
